It’s Been Awhile!
Winter Break Update
Wow, where does the time go? The last post I made was way back in October of 2011! Lots has happened since then. Brett Graybill and I shot our second 16mm assignment for our filmmaking class at Temple University entitled Marlowe, which you can view here. Its a short piece about a man on the run. You can decide exactly what he is running from once you see the film! Marlowe is definitely one of my more “out there” movies and is more for pure enjoyment than personal message, but it was a lot of fun to direct and a great exercise in editing.
In November, I directed my latest short film, Signed Harry. It was one of the best production experiences of my life because of how much I learned about directing as well as many other aspects of filmmaking. The movie is based on a story by my good friend Matthew Thackray that explores the circular pattern of life and personality as past down from parent to child. The movie was made as my final assignment for my 16mm filmmaking class at Temple University and stars Joseph James, Adam Charlton, and Julie Zeglen. The group for the project included Brett Graybill who DP’d, Fransiscus Magastowo on second camera and our grip, and Matthew Law-Phipps who recorded sound and cut together the film. The movie is in post production and should be released by the end of the winter.
As for upcoming projects, I’m about to start writing my big film for the summer. Its a story I’ve been wanting to tell for some time now, and one that I think you will all really enjoy. I’ll keep you posted on my progress!
Lastly, I’d like to say that 2012 marks 10 years since I’ve been making movies, and I hope to make this year the best year yet! With all of your help and support, and the grace of God, I know that its gonna be one heck of a year! Happy New Year!!!
